All of our class are conducted in English. Mandarin available upon request.

I have dietary restrictions or food allergy, can I still come to the class?

 

Vegetarian or any other dietary option available upon request. we will do our best to arrange alternatives for you. Pregnant women are not allow to choose the Chinese herb medicine soup dish, please forgive us for the inconvenience brought to you.

 

Can my children participate in the cooking class?

 

Our cooking classes are suitable for adults and children of 10 years and older with some previous cooking experience. If your child is younger than 10,he/she can come along as a visitor. We request he/she pay for the visitor charge. This includes extra ingredients for you to cook and have lunch together. He/she may join the market and farm tour. There is a maximum number of visitors allowed per class so it is best to contact us again to see what is possible. Children under the age of 5 are free.

 

How can I make a reservation?

 

To make a reservation you can fill out the booking form on our website. We check our emails regularly, but if you haven’t heard back from us within 24 hours, you can better resend your reservation. We require advance payment, you can either come to our office to pay and register or you can pay by credit card through PayPal. Please contact us for any further questions.

 

Why do we need to pay in advance?

 

Some people book a class and simply do not show up (even when they have confirmed by email the evening before). As we need to organize for every person who books a class, we need to be 100% sure of your attendance. The maximum is 8 persons so we make sure people who really would like to do this course they can come . it is better to book in advance to make sure we have availability. Actually you can book the same day, but you might get disappointed when the class is fully booked already.

 

How many persons per class?

 

Although the maximum is 8 persons, we do not feel this is too much, our guests  are happy to meet others during their cooking experience and many go home as friends. 

 

How much walking is involved?

 

A visit to a local wet market will be arranged before the start of a cooking class ,the total distance covered is approximately 1 km. It's not compulsory for you to join the market trip, but please let us know your preference at the time of booking.

 

What condition will we have to cancel or postpone the cooking class?

 

We have to cancel or postpone the cooking class due to the circumstances beyond our control, such as cutting off the supply of natural gas, water or electricity cut etc., we will change the date or fully refund.

 

Where is the meeting place?

 

Chinese healthy cook studio located in southwest of Chengdu, It is only 7km away from Tian Fu Square(天府广场),6km from Wide And Narrow Alley(宽窄巷)。Very close to metro station. Take the metro line 7 to (花照壁站) ’’HUA ZHAO BI ZHAN’’ station and walk 2 min from the metro station.

What about Chengdu?

 

Thousands of years ago, a king of the ancient Shu kingdom established his capital in the center of Sichuan plain and named it Chengdu. Nowadays, Chengdu is the capital of Sichuan province, which is 1,24thousand square kilometers in size and has a population of 14million.It’s the technological, commercial, trading, financial and transportation center in southwestern China. There are 252 fortune global 500companies in Chengdu .

 

What’s the weather like in Chengdu ?

 

Actually, Chengdu is a basin, the weather is humid, the sunshine time is very little, cool in summer, but winter is not very cold. The annual average temperature is 16.2 ℃, the annual maximum temperature is 37. the lowest temperature is 3 ℃, the hottest month appeared in July to August, the monthly average temperature is 25.4 and 25.0 ℃, the most coldest month appeared in January, the monthly average temperature is 5.6 ℃.

 

What people’s life like in Chengdu?

 

People’s life rhythm-slow, relaxing and optimistic. Everywhere you go, you can find tea houses, the number of which must be more than any other places. People like to go there ,chatting and playing mahjong. So there is a saying that “once you come to Chengdu, you don’t want to leave” which reveal the charming of this city.

 

What things to do in Chengdu?

 

1.Visit Chengdu’s historic sites, such as “the Jin li street”, “Broad and Narrow Alley”, “Wu hou Memorial Temple “etc.
2.Take a visit to see the giant pandas ,the Chengdu Panda Breeding Research Center located 10km away from downtown Chengdu.
3.Watch magical face Changing
4.Go to a plain tea house ,find a bamboo chair ,lie on it and enjoy a cup of tea.

 

What to eat in Chengdu?

 

1.Chengdu hotpot is the best choice to try and must to eat ,it has various styles ranging from mild ,moderate, super hot ,as well as fish head hotpot, medical herbs hotpot.
2.The local snacks are famous for its tiny exquisite look along with its delicious taste, such as “Zhong Dumpling”, “Dan Dan noodle” etc, especially the Rabbit Head ,if you are the adventurous foodies.
3.The authentic Sichuan Cuisine you never miss, for example “Mapo Tofu”, “Twice cooked pork”, ”Kungpao Chicken”.
